Another Catch-All Post
Today was a so-so kind of day. I went to lunch at Pizza Hut, started and finished Access 2002 Fast & Easy, started the The Writer's Guide to Conquering the Magazine Market, borrowed six more books from the library (returned one), picked up the mail (Max's battery operated toothbrush was delivered (won't he be thrilled?), played around with my Book Blog by adding all the books that I have out at the library, went to see Far From Heaven (definitely a 3 handkie movie), went to dinner at Meritage (which was very good!), walked Max about 5 times, talked to PG about our different views about money and savings and read my email. I have not done any work on my projects listing, which is not good because Scott's first day is Saturday and I need to be ready..otherwise, he and I tend to spend the time just chit chatting without accomplishing much! While reading the Access book, penciled in the database structure I plan to use with my SongList file (about 4,500 Karaoke songs), Sheet Music file (about 200 songs), Songs in my Music Books (about 1000 songs). I also contemplated the database structure of my CD song list and my MP3 song list. Not sure where I am going with that. Also, I still have Brian's 200 CDs in his two CD changers and may have a plan for those songs. Surprisingly, I have been toying with the idea of scanning in all my recipes from the 30 to 40 cookbooks that I own. If I can use the scanner pen and not have to input by typing, there might be a way to create a good recipe database for me to use. This thought is hilarious if you consider that I cook about once or twice a year! However, the point is that I really do want more experience creating practical databases quickly and efficiently. I am just trying to use whatever I have around the house to create that experience. I may have to copy this section over to my Project blog because this is sounding more like serious projects than idle thoughts.
I rattled off some possible blog ideas/topics to D. I am thinking that I would like to a few of them too! However, I need to get up-to-date with the four blogs that I am currently writing before taking on anything more.
I hope My First Attempt will allow me to get a handle on what happens to my time. The days/weeks/months/years passed and I hadn't a clue what I'd done. For the first time in 10 + years, I'm creating a daily diary. I can look back (over the last 5 or 6 days) and there are my memories. WOW! What would have happened if I started this a year ago? The point is probably moot because a year ago, this activity was not possible for me. Somehow, this feels like it is tied into the changes in my thinking process that the acupuncture sessions brought about. Something just either released or opened up in my mind. I just hope that I will be able to continue this blogging process.
While typing this, I just remembered that I used to work out quite extensively on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The sessions were 3 to 4 hours each. I did this from 3/31/01 until around 8/27/02. Somehow, the memory of this activity just left my mind. I would remember it occassionally but would rarely focus on it. I don't know why unless it just took too much time. I stopped working out when Dick went into the hospital. I did not want to leave Max alone for the hours that I would be working out. He was just 4 months old. I know that I spoil him a lot. But, I was unwilling to have a puppy and then leave him alone for long periods of time. Prior to Dick going into the hospital, he stayed with Max while I was working out. That is probably it.
I am going to start working out again. I think I'll start in January 2003. I will work out on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. This time, I will only work out for 2 1/2 hours. 3 to 4 hours is probably too much...after all, I not getting any younger (gg)!
I did something when I was typing this post and LOST the entire post! Luckily for me, I had copied it because I thought it was lost once before. I copied it off the web page. All I had to do with recreate the HTML tags. I better copy this again because I typed another 4 paragraphs since my last save. I lost the stuff even after I hit Post & Publish. I think there must be a "hotkey" that translates to DELETE this post! Anyway, let me save before something else happens.
