A Catch-All Post for the Day
Today, I had my normal acupuncture appointment. That went well. In addition, I went and bought some chewing bones for Max (about 20 flavored bones). Dick found a coupon for $10 off if you buy at least $40 worth of pet products. So, now I have my bribing material. I give a bone to Max whenever we leave him alone (which is not too often). He is probably alone 8 hours a week, when we go out for dinner. Not exactly deprived...however, he is spoiled and gets upset whenever he's left alone. I fear we are going to regret this indulgence as he gets older. But, why would we leave him alone anyway? He goes in for his second grooming on 12/4. I am looking forward to seeing him looking all snazzy and proud! He runs around like a real show-off.
Leon said that I should not stay in front of the computer for longer than 30 minutes without taking 5 minute breaks. Also, I should try to keep my head facing forward verses leaning down. When I type, if I need to look down, I should do it with my eyes only. That is easy for him to say...he must know how to type. I flunked typing in high school because I could not keep my eyes off my fingers when I type. Anyway, he said the weight of the head places a tremendous strain on the spinal cord. I have been trying to just use my eyes (looking down) when I type. But, I swear, I am getting dizzy with all this up-and-down eye movement!
I took the Dragon Speaking Naturally Preferred back to CompUSA. There was a problem with the rebate process and it looked like I was not going to be able to get the $50 rebate. Without the rebate, the software would cost $130. That seemed like a waste of money since I still wasn't sure I wanted to use voice on the computer. I shall try to install and use the Dragon Speaking Naturally Essentials which only accepts voice when writing emails. I shall get this handled soon. I got a credit for the software.
Scott called today. He will be able to work for me one day a week. He will handle the computer related problems. Yippee! He starts on Saturday. I can hardly wait. I am going to work on the other projects blog so that he will have something to follow. Of the 100 or so pending projects, he can help me with 40 to 50 of them. In addition, new ones are coming to mind. He has abilities with sound systems. I may be able to get him to set up the taping equipment so we can make good tapes of our singing. I may have to buy another tape player, but what the heck...good tapes sound worthwhile to me. I need to hear what I sound like so I can make the changes that I want.
I started the process for hosting the family Christmas party this year. I am sorry that I agreed to do this. I think the stress is going to make it unpleasant. Both Paula's will be helping. PG will provide the decorations. I have to find the name of the lady who will cater some of the food. Grant needs to figure who he will call and who I am supposed to call.
Blogger is having trouble with their publishing feature. I think I'll go work on the other blogs and let this one rest for a while. I just want to list whatever else I did today...that I can remember: entered the writing contest, read Power Point 2002, went to dinner at the Colony Steakhouse, talked to PG about the lady who owns the doberman pincher, talked to jks, pw and pg about the christmas party, and read all my normal newspapers. I may start a 4th blog to keep track of the books that I read. I could do it here but I would have trouble looking up what I read in case I wanted to re-borrow a particular book.
